Some Whatsapp users may be in for some bad news

Some Whatsapp users may be in for some bad news. The popular messaging app’s latest update, due to kick in on 1 January 2021, may stop working on older Android and iPhone smartphones. Users will either have to update their operating system or purchase an upgraded smartphone. It comes as the operating systems on older phones, listed below, don’t have the ability to support the update.
Any iPhone not running iOS 9 or newer, including all iPhone models up to the iPhone 4, won’t be able to open the updated app. The same applies for smartphones running on anything less than Android 4.0.3 – also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Your software can be checked in your phones settings menu. Users are encouraged to back-up their chats by midnight to avoid losing it.
Phones that will lose WhatsApp support from 1 January 2021 include:• Samsung Galaxy S2• Apple iPhone 1-4• HTC Desire• LG Optimus Black• Motorola Droid Razr• Android devices released before 2010
Devices that will need to update to iOS 9 / Android OS 4.0.3 or higher include:• Apple iPhone 4S• iPhone 5/ 5S and iPhone 6/ 6S• Samsung Galaxy S3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy Note• HTC Sensation / Thunderbolt• LG Lucid• Motorola Droid 4• Sony Xperia Pro and newer update your phone now by clicking Update and follow the steps Update Now
